Galvanomagnetic and thermogalvanomagnetic transport effects in ferromagnetic fcc CoxPd1−x alloys from first principles

چکیده
The galvanomagnetic and thermogalvanomagnetic transport of the prototypical ferromagnetic transition-metal alloy system fcc CoxPd1−x has been investigated on the basis of Kubo’s linear response formalism. The results for the full electric conductivity tensor allow discussing the spin-orbit-induced anisotropic magnetoresistance and the anomalous Hall effect. These are complemented by results for the corresponding thermogalvanomagnetic transport properties anisotropy of the Seebeck effect and anomalous Nernst effect. The relation between the respective response coefficients is discussed with the underlying electronic structure calculated relativistically within the Korringa-Kohn-Rostoker coherent potential approximation band structure method for disordered alloys.

Room-temperature ferromagnetism in doped face-centered cubic fe nanoparticles.
The magnetism of Fe and its alloys has been at the center of scientific and technological interest for decades. Along with the ferromagnetic nature of body-centered cubic Fe, the magnetic properties of face-centered cubic (fcc) Fe have attracted much attention. It is well known that fcc Fe is thermodynamically unstable at ambient conditions and not ferromagnetic. Contrary to what is known, we r...
متن کاملThe Magnetic Aspects of the γ-α and γ- Martensitic Transformations in Fe-Mn Alloys
Fe,,Mn, alloys undergo fcc-bcc (y-a) and fcc-hcp (y-E) transformations for about 0<x<10 at % and 15<x<30 at% respectively. The product phase in the region 10<x<15 at. % is mixed a+€ and ~ + y . The y-a transformation in Fe-Mn is similar to that in Fe-rich Fe-Ni alloys where the transformation takes place between a high-temperature dense fcc structure and a lowtemperature more open bcc structure...
متن کاملThe Role of the Nature of Magnetic Coupling on the Martensitic Transformation in Fe-Ni
Fe,,,Ni, with xs30 at.%, known as anti-Invar alloys, undergo mprtensitic transformations. Total energy calculations have shown that these alloys incorporate a strongly fluctuating magnetic moment in the fcc state. In order to undeixtand the relationship between the moment fluctuations and the martensitic transformation, we have investigated the magnetic moment in the paramagnetic fcc state of t...
متن کاملMagnetic structure of Co1ÀxMnx alloys
Co12xMnx thin films epitaxially grown on GaAs~001! have been studied using reflection high-energy electron diffraction, x-ray diffraction, and the magneto-optical Kerr effect. The result shows that Co-rich films are body-centered cubic and ferromagnetic, and Mn-rich ones are face-centered cubic and antiferromagnetic. However, the film structure and magnetism at x;0.5 show strongly thickness-dep...
متن کاملSe p 19 99 Magnetic properties of disordered CoCu alloys : A first principles approach
CoCu alloys have been extensively studied experimentally. Earlier investigations, particularly those of the magnetic properties, include high-temperature magnetic moment for 4085% Cu rich Co-Cu solid solutions [1] and variation of magnetic moments for Co rich alloys at room temperature [2,3]. Recently, the focus of attention has been on giant magneto-resistance (GMR) studies. Several experiment...
